China and Me - Shujun Li

Dr Shujun Li (李树钧)
Senior Lecturer, Department of Computer Science
Deputy Director, Surrey Centre for Cyber Security (SCCS)
Summary of collaboration with China:

  • Close connections with 30+ universities/research institutes in China/Singapore
  • 2 joint projects with China and Singapore
  • Published most papers jointly with Chinese partners

This page summarises current research collaborations and other academic links between Dr Shujun Li (李树钧) and China. Here, some links with Chinese researchers in Singapore are also included.

Research Expertise

Dr Shujun Li's main research interests are cyber security (including usable security, digital forensics and cyber crime, information hiding and digital watermarking, mobile security and user privacy, security economics, network security, systems security, but NOT cryptography and purely theoretical aspects), multimedia computing (including image processing, image/video coding, and visual quality assessment), human factors (including usability, computational aspects related to human behaviours, and accessibility), applications of artificial intelligence (NOT theory), applications of nonlinear science (chaos/fractals) in computer science and electronic engineering. For more details please see his personal website.

In addition to his current research interests, he was working on a highly interdisciplinary research subject -- nonlinear science (chaos and fractals) -- which touches a number of subjects he is not actively researching but maintains good connections with researchers in China: physics, applied mathematics, complex networks (also called network science), automatic control and system sciences. He is also well connected to signal processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, medical imaging, computer graphics, and communication engineering communities in China through his classmates, labmates and former colleagues.
